Serving papers in Tamarac
The age-restricted communities, the condominium and villa sections, the single-family neighborhoods and the businesses along Commercial Boulevard, University Drive and State Road 7.
Tamarac is in central Broward County, the 17th Judicial Circuit, and every job here goes to one of our process servers certified in that circuit.
Large 55+ communities
A large share of Tamarac's homes are in age-restricted communities, many with a gate and a security office, and many organized as condominium or villa associations with their own section, building and unit numbering. Send the full address with any section or unit number. Florida Statutes section 48.031(7) requires a gated residential community, including a condominium association or a cooperative, to grant a process server unannounced entry to serve a resident.
Residents are often home during the day, which makes a first attempt more likely to succeed, but some are away for part of the year. If the unit looks empty, we note it and tell you, rather than make repeated trips to an empty home.
Substitute service at home
Under Florida Statutes 48.031(1)(a), papers can be left at the person's usual place of abode with a person 15 or older who lives there, after telling them what the papers are. A caregiver or visitor who does not live there does not qualify, and we do not leave papers with them.
The closest courthouses are the West Regional Courthouse, 100 North Pine Island Road, Plantation and the North Regional Courthouse, 1600 West Hillsboro Boulevard, Deerfield Beach. Circuit and county civil cases are filed at the Broward County Courthouse, 201 SE 6th Street, Fort Lauderdale. See our guide to service of process in Broward.
