Before you go
Which courtroom or division handles your case, and whether you can file by mail or online, is published by the Miami-Dade Clerk of the Court. Most filings by attorneys go through the Florida Courts E-Filing Portal, and self-represented parties can usually file there too. Hours, parking and security rules change; the court's page for each building has the current details.
Papers to serve after you file?
Once the clerk issues the summons, the papers have to be served on each defendant. Agera Legal Services serves papers across Miami-Dade from $60, with a GPS point and a photo on every attempt and a notarized affidavit.
