Serving papers in Ocala
Downtown Ocala, the southwest corridor along SR 200, the northwest horse-farm country, Silver Springs and the communities around the city.
Ocala is the county seat of Marion County, which is part of the 5th Judicial Circuit. A Miami-Dade or Broward certification does not cover a Marion County address, so every Ocala job goes to our process server certified in the 5th Circuit, who is based in Lecanto, next door in Citrus County.
You order the same way as anywhere else we serve, online or by phone, with one flat price per level. Up to 4 attempts at different times of day within your level's time, with a Saturday attempt when that time includes a Saturday, and a notarized affidavit of service.
Horse farms and long driveways
Ocala calls itself the Horse Capital of the World, and much of northwest Marion County is horse farms behind gates, with the house a long way from the road. The person named on the papers is often out in the barns, at a show or travelling with horses for the season. Attempts are planned around farm hours, and each gate, sign and contact with staff is recorded.
Large gated communities
Southwest Ocala has some of the largest gated and age-restricted communities in Florida. Florida Statutes section 48.031(7) requires a gated residential community, including a homeowners or condominium association, to grant entry to a process server attempting to serve a resident. We show the gate our credentials and record the gate policy with every attempt.
Rural routes and the forest
East of the city, the Ocala National Forest and the rural areas around it have unpaved roads, rural route addresses and homes that navigation apps place in the wrong spot. Addresses there are checked on county records and maps before the trip, because a wrong turn can cost an hour.
Marion County cases are filed at the Marion County Judicial Center in downtown Ocala. Send the case number with the papers so the affidavit matches the court file.
