Serving papers in Citrus County
Inverness, Crystal River, Homosassa, Lecanto, Beverly Hills, Hernando, Citrus Springs and Floral City.
Citrus County is part of the 5th Judicial Circuit. Our process server certified in that circuit lives and works in Lecanto, so Citrus County jobs are local work, not a long drive from another county.
You order the same way as anywhere else we serve, online or by phone, with one flat price per level. Up to 4 attempts at different times of day within your level's time, with a Saturday attempt when that time includes a Saturday, and a notarized affidavit of service.
Waterfront homes on the Gulf side
Crystal River and Homosassa are built along spring-fed rivers and canals that run out to the Gulf. Many homes sit on narrow canal streets and dead-end lanes, and some are reached only through private roads. Addresses are checked on the map before the trip so a waterfront address does not turn into a second visit.
Seasonal residents and retirement communities
Much of Citrus County is retirement and seasonal housing, including gated golf communities. A quiet house in winter can mean a resident who is only here part of the year. Florida Statutes section 48.031(7) requires a gated residential community, including a homeowners or condominium association, to grant entry to a process server attempting to serve a resident, and each gate policy and attempt is recorded.
Rural roads and lot numbers
Outside the towns, homes are on unpaved roads, in forested areas and in manufactured-home parks where the lot number matters as much as the street address. Send everything that is on the papers, including lot or space numbers, and the best times to find the person.
Citrus County cases are filed at the county courthouse in Inverness, the county seat. Send the case number with the papers so the affidavit matches the court file.
